worst EVER.

today i had one of the worst experiences ive had in a looong time. maybe top 20 of my lifetime. eh, i dunno. but it felt pretty miserable at the time. here goes...

nathan and i use cash for food to keep ourselves from spending too much. because of this, i often leave my purse in the car when i go to the grocery. problem: i throw my keys in my purse before getting out of the car. SO, after a good bit of shopping and a grocery cart with 2 fussy boys who are ready for nap time, i get to my car to find that i locked my keys in the car. BUT, dont worry, i keep a spare key hidden somewhere on the car! aaaaaand, i used that spare 2 days ago, and its sitting on the front seat of my car. SO. im locked out. and my phone is in the car. the only phone number i have memorized is my husbands, and he was in nebraska anyways. i asked a lady in the produce section, ha, if i could use her phone. she was nice and let me call nathan 4 times, but he didnt answer. someone was too busy tailgating at the UT vs NU football game. ahem.. i was completely hopeless. friends of mine live about half a mile from the grocery, so i seriously considered pushing my shopping cart to their house. i tried to use the grocery store phone since they didnt have pay phones, but it wouldnt let me call a 940 number. SO, i started getting emotional, of course :) a nice lady in front of the grocery let me use her phone again, but still no answer from the husband. grr. she asked if she could do anything for me, and i asked to have a ride to my friend's house. sweet lady, she was going to take me, my groceries, and 2 babies in her car to some random place! as we were putting my groceries in her car, she saw a guy towing a truck in the parking lot. this sweet older woman ran across the parking lot and asked the guy if he could unlock my car. sure enough, he did it. the lady stayed with my boys until it was all finished. so stinkin nice. i was a sweaty, emotional wreck! what a day.

in other news, i had some friends over today to watch the UT game. they were all huskers fans, and they were quite saddened when nebraska lost to UT. ha. im not a crazy UT fan, but it was fun. i even made cupcakes and bought them red icing to decorate with NU stuff. arent i just so supportive? ;)

my house is a mess and i dont care. i just want to sleep, so im gonna! lata gata. ps- nathan comes home tomorrow! i think owen may be more excited than i am!

  1. Oh, Marc....just wanna cry reading this. I'm glad you've written it down because you just never know when you'll have opportunity to share/encourage/laugh about these kinds of experiences someday! Love you.

  2. I'm glad your normal and experience normal human mistakes like the rest of us....I was begining to hate you just a little...:p

Not gonna lie, that's one of my biggest fears that, or locking Avery in the car, both would have me freaking out.

  3. Marcie, I can totally relate! Joey and I were lucky enough to get tickets to game 1 against the Yankees. We were almost at the gate when I relized I left my camera in the car. So I went back to get it. (I had hidden my purse in the trunk, and my camera was inside it) As I shut the trunk, I saw my keys. They were right there on a new bundle of toilet paper I had just bought. So here I am at the Ranger's post season game with my keys locked in my car. To make matters worse we weren't on a Rangers lot so they woudln't help me.......the police and firefighters couldn't help because there wasn't a child lock inside. I was so frusterated, mad, and an emotional wreck. In the end, about an hour and half later, I finally got the keys out because some stranger had pitty on a crying lady and helped me break into my car. I only missed the first out and was able to enjoy the rest of the game......until the Rangers bullpen blew it!
