The Small Things

Yes, it really is the small things in our daily lives that get me the most excited around here! Today, Owen has officially learned to drink from a sippy cup with a hard top. He has been using the soft tops for a long time now, and just wasnt a fan of the hard top. HOWEVER, he got started today, and hasnt stopped drinking since! He thinks he is very cool, and i am not complaining! Now, milk wont leak all over the place, AND half of his sippy cups say his name on them, so itll work great in the church nursery! Its the small things, ya know? :)

Owen and his sippy-

In other news, I decided to actually get out my camera and start taking more pictures and video. Ive been a slacker since we moved, but Im going to get back into the swing of it. Here is a quick video of Owen playing with a new toy. Im getting antsy about the new baby coming, so Ive been going through lots of boxes of baby stuff. Im coming across a few toys, and Owen is loving it! Its so fun to see him actually understand his toys and attempt to play with them how he should. I didnt think he would really play with this one, but he loves putting the "screws" through the holes! Hes just a smart kiddo!

Oh, and one more story that happened this morning. Its a typical boy story about how yucky they are. This morning, owen was in the bathroom with nathan and this is how the convo went-

Nathan- "Owen, no no!"
Me- "Whats he doing?"
Nathan- "He moves the trash can so he can get to the plunger."
My thoughts- well, of course he moved Owen away from the toilet and he is playing somewhere else.
Next, Owen comes running into the bedroom with the plunger in his hand, smiling!
Me- "Nathan! You let him play with the plunger????"
Nathan-"Well its broken, it probably hasnt been used for a long time."

Uhhhhh, boys are so gross. Needless to say, though Owen was screaming in objection, I have permanently removed the plunger from our bathroom!

  1. Avery got the same sippie for her 1st birthday and it has been such a blessing for school and church! Not easy finding her name on things, just like growing up how hard it was to find something with Brittnye spelled my way on it (Never found such a thing).

We need to get together soon for a play date or even just a mom date.
