The Que Que

Our family is officially in the Que Que (pronounced kway kway), a name given to Albuquerque by Nathan's staff team at Providence :) Ah, we are going to miss those silly guys! So, for those of you who dont know-

Nathan has been working for 2 years at Providence Church in Austin, Texas as an intern.  However, his internship recently ended and we began looking for a new position in ministry.  Among many interviews was one at Desert Springs Church in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  It was a youth minister position, which everyone knows Nathan would be AWESOME doing.  Nathan and I flew to Albq a month before Micah was born, and we LOVED it here.  The weather, view, church, people, and staff are incredible.  We felt so loved and welcomed and felt immediately called to be here.  So, a few weeks later we took the job and moved to New Mexico!  I never imagined that I would live here, but I'm really beginning to love it.

Nathans parents drove to Austin and drove with Nathan and the boys from Austin to Albq on Monday the 2nd.  Micah and I flew out the next day.  I got offered a travel voucher for giving up my seat on an airplane, which took us from Austin to Dallas to Houston to Albq, but it was worth it! :) Since then, we have been unpacking like crazy people.  The staff team at DSC has been wonderful, helping us unpack and then inviting us to a party last night.  They are just such great people, we feel so blessed to be here.  I have been welcomed by lots of young moms and feel encouraged by lots of potential friendships.

The boys have made the transition well.  I was a bit nervous about new beds in a new house, but they have been awesome. Thanks to Nana and Pop, we have gotten to see lots of Albq- we went up on Sandia Peak (the big mountain east of albq), ate at fun restaurants, went to Old Town for some shopping, and have just figured out the lay of the land.  We love it!  We are glad to be here and plan on staying for a good while...
