My Baby Can Read!!

well, not really, but we are getting close!

nathan and i have talked numerous times about not wanting to be those annoying parents who just brag about their children all the time. we have to remind each other to keep our mouths shut when we are hanging out with friends, because we know that they dont want to hear about Owen and Caleb all the time! but ya know, sometimes ya just cant help it! and ive also convinced myself that this is MY blog and i can brag about my little one if i want! besides, no one really reads it except close friends and family. so here i go...

owen is brilliant. he has become addicted to a learning video, and i cant believe how much he is learning. i sign throughout the entire video, and he has picked up on SO much. let me just fill you on in all the words that my 15 month old can sign-

he also moo's like a cow, barks like a dog, quacks like a duck, beeps like a car, vrooms like a truck/tractor, naaas like a horse, says mom and dad when he chooses to, says a form of "off" and "on" when i let him play with the light switch. aaaand so much more, i just cant think of it. im so surprised by him every day. ill show him a sign once, not really thinking about, and he'll do it three days later. the video we have been using has been SO helpful. i just ordered the 5 dvd set of My Baby Can Read, so we'll see how that goes. ive also heard that leapfrog stuff is good, so i may look into that. enough enough, i know.

i also ordered a baby wrap today for when mr caleb gets here. a friend of mine had one when we lived in louisville, and it was AWESOME! its a wrap that goes over each shoulder and across your chest, and it holds your little one right against your chest. the one i order is called a Sleepy Wrap ( i think). i think its going to make life much easier with a newborn, 1 year old, a great dane, and moving to Austin. here are a few pics from the website-





can i just give some serious thanks to my husband really quick? he's outside working VERY hard, while im in here blogging and letting owen nap. he works his hiney off to make money for his family, and then he gets EXCITED for me when i use his hard-earned money to buy things like baby dvds and baby wraps. what an incredible husband i have. he really is. im so blessed.

here are a few pics of owen in his cute little hat. its a 12 month hat, an he has a big noggin, so i may need to get some new ones. hes really becoming a little boy, and its freaking me out... and of course here is a cute naked bottom pic :)
