Ice Storm Nomads

So I've been out of commission for about a week now, due to a crazy ice storm that came through Louisville. We lost power at the very beginning of the storm and didnt get it back until about 5 days later. Who knew that ice-covered falling trees could put 200,000 people out of power? Kinda insane. Meanwhile, Nathan, Owen, and I stayed with Craig and Sarah, who were SO gracious to share their home with us! Our good friend, Tiffany, also flew in from Austin to visit. We had a blast with her, it just happened to be the worst weekend out of the year to be in Louisville! Owen did great with all of the craziness, and has actually started sleeping a lot more at night. We just get up for one feeding around 4 or 5am. He's only 9 weeks old, so thats fine with me! We are going to try putting him in the crib sometime this week. I think he'll do fine with it. I'm just selfish and dont want to have to get out of bed to feed him...

It's ridiculous that being away from the internet can make someone feel so out of touch! Our world clearly revolves around the internet (facebook and blogging, for me!). Anyway, I'm back now, so life is back to normal! Nathan and I started our classes at seminary a week late because of the ice storm. They seem to be going good though, we both enjoy our professors and class content. Woo hoo! My last semester!!

I'm off to work on taxes. This year our refund is going towards a new washer and dryer, or a new laptop. We desperately need all of those, as our washer doesnt do the spin cycle, our dryer makes a horrible screaching noise, and the laptop only comes on when it feels like it. Lovely.

  1. Yay! You have a blog! I cannot believe all the crazy weather you guys have been having, and can't say that I'm sad to be in Texas right now either!

  2. I was so lazy when Kaiya was an infant. She slept with me till she was 4 months old. (That is when she quit her night feedings.) I say you do what you gotta do! Enjoy every moment with him.
